Homemade Fruit mask for skin whitening

Fruits that Lighten Skin and Makes It Glow

Bilberries
A cousin of blueberries, bilberries contain tannins. Tannins are powerful antioxidants that are not only beneficial for treating facial hyperpigmentation, they also inhibit melanin production and keep your skin smooth and young.
Blend ½ cup fresh bilberries in a blender. Apply it to your face and allow it to sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water.
If fresh bilberries are not readily available, you can buy a good quality bilberry extract from your local health store, or get it online. Apply 1-2 teaspoons bilberry extract on your face. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Rinse off with warm water. Repeat facial mask 2-3 times a week.


Tomatoes
The lycopene, Vitamins, and minerals found in tomato makes dull skin clear and blemish-free. Lycopene also protects skin from free radicals and boosts your skin's natural SPF.

Puree 1 tomato, add 1-2 drops lime juice and mix well. Apply tomato mixture to your face. If you use this homemade face mask everyday for 15 days, your skin complexion will be visibly whiter and brighter.



Lemons
Loaded with Vitamin C and citrus acid, this citrus fruit is your best friend when it comes to skin lightening. Lemon juice is one of Mother nature's most potent skin bleaching ingredients. Applying lemon juice on your face regularly can fade dark marks, freckles and lighten your skin tone by a few shades.

Apply ½ teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice on your clean face. Leave it to work its skin whitening effects for about 10 minutes. Then wash it off with warm water and pat dry with a soft towel.

If you want to get rid of dark spots on your face, such as age spots (liver spots), cover them with lemon slices and let them sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry. Repeat this simple facial 2-3 times a week. You will notice the dark spots becoming lighter and gradually fade out.

You will feel a slight tingling sensation from the citric acid. Wash it off immediately if it feels burning.


Papayas
Papaya is a popular ingredient in many retailed skin lightening products because it contains papain. Papain exfoliates dead skin naturally to reveal smooth glowing skin. It also helps reduce freckles and dark marks.

Remove skin and seeds of a small papaya, and cut into pieces. Blend them on low setting for 15-20 seconds. Apply papaya pulp to your face. Let it work for 15-20 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

You can also combine ½ cup papaya with ½ cup pumpkin and ½ cup pineapple in a blender. Blend to form a paste.

Add 1 packet unflavored gelatin to the paste, and heat until gelatin dissolves. Allow to cool before applying it on your face. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Peel off the face mask.
